Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma Focusing on Holistic Family Advocacy
April 16, 2020
Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma is adapting to meet the unique challenges the COVID-19 crisis is placing on families.
"However, in the wake of COVID-19, the problems our neighbors face come in clusters, where one cannot be solved without addressing all the others," said LASO managing attorney Laci Klinger. "As such, LASO has shifted its entire focus to provide holistic family advocacy: Still providing free civil legal help, but assessing those seeking help for all the obstacles/challenges they face with landlords, mortgagors and creditors, denials of benefits, health issues, and family law problems – to name a few, and intervening on their behalf so those issues will not hinder their recovery when the threat of COVID-19 has lessened."
