Grantee Activity Report and Self-Inspection
Deadlines, instructions, training materials, and FAQs regarding submission of Grantee Activity Reports and Self-Inspection & Ongoing Compliance Oversight forms.
The Grantee Activity Report (GAR) is the largest and longest-running data collection effort on civil legal aid in the United States. Since 1976, LSC has recorded and reported data from grantees in a variety of ways. Topics include grantee staffing, finances, case services, and more. Data collection occurs in the first quarter of each year.
The Self-Inspection & Ongoing Compliance Reports are submitted with the GAR. These provide LSC and grantees an indicator of the accuracy of Case Services Reports (CSRs). This enables LSC to identify the need for technical assistance and to provide Congress and the public the most accurate statistical information possible about closed cases. See the guidance resources listed below for more information.
