MEDIA ADVISORY: LSC Board to Meet September 21

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC-The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) Board of Directors will meet in Washington on September 21 and, following a meeting of the Board's Finance Committee, will consider and act on LSC's Fiscal Year 2012 appropriation request to the Congress.

The Finance Committee meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and the Board meeting to immediately follow.  Both will be held at 3333 K Street NW.  Members of the public also may participate by telephone, using the instructions published in the Federal Register: http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2010/2010-23343.htm

LSC is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that was established in 1974 to promote equal access to justice and to ensure high-quality civil legal services are available to low-income Americans. Corporation grants are distributed to 136 nonprofit legal aid programs across the nation.
