Greg was the Executive Director at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego (LASSD) for almost 50 years. .” During that time, LASSD’s staff grew from a small group to a staff of 212 people that provides representation to more than 14,000 low-income residents in LASSD’s service area. Greg had a reputation of being compassionate, authentic, and committed to serving people in poverty. He was widely admired and respected in California and across the country, known especially for his innovations in partnership with the community to revolutionize the delivery of public health care to low-income people. Under his leadership,  LASSD established the Consumer Center for Health Education and Advocacy in 1999. Greg also  served as Chair and Co-Chair of the Joint Professional and Consumer Advocacy (JPCA) Committee for the Healthy San Diego program, and was the first active legal aid director appointed to the California State Bar Board of Trustees.
