Kristine Knab
LSC Champion of Justice

Nominated by Leslie N. Powell-Boudreaux

"Kristine Knab worked for Legal Services of North Florida for 30 years, working her way up from law clerk to executive director. Kris led the growth of LSNF as it expanded to the entire Florida Panhandle. Kris focused much of her work on fair housing, community development and service to victims of domestic violence, creating key partnerships to ensure these survivors received legal help. She helped to start tenants' associations to protect the rights of public housing residents in North Florida. Kris retired in 2016, with the plan to continue critical advocacy in the community on her own. Kris sadly lost her battle with pancreatic cancer in 2019. Kris leaves a legacy of many mentees who continue in legal aid and community service as a result of her work, including an award in her name with the United Partners for Human Services."
