MEDIA ADVISORY: LSC Finance Committee to Meet August 1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC—The Finance Committee of the Legal Services Corporation’s Board of Directors will meet in Cambridge, Mass., on August 1 to consider a budget recommendation for Fiscal Year 2013.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Pound Hall at the Harvard Law School. Members of the public who are unable to attend may listen to the Committee meeting by telephone, using the instructions published in the Federal Register notice. Download the Federal Register notice here.

The Corporation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that was established by the Congress in 1974 to promote equal access to justice and to ensure civil legal services are available to low-income Americans. Corporation grants are distributed to 136 nonprofit legal aid programs across the nation.

Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is an independent nonprofit established by Congress in 1974. For 50 years, LSC has provided financial support for civil legal aid to low-income Americans.
