Washington, DC -- The Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation will meet by telephone at 2 p.m. on September 8.
The Board will take up the Corporation's proposed 2009 Justice Gap Report and will consider whether to establish a search committee for the next president of the Corporation, according to the Board's agenda.
Members of the news media and the public who wish to attend the meeting may join members of the Corporation's staff in the 3rd floor Conference Room of the Corporation, located at 3333 K St., NW, Washington, D.C. The Corporation is the single largest funder of civil legal assistance to low-income individuals and families across the nation, operating as a federally-funded nonprofit organization that promotes equal access to justice. The Corporation funds 137 nonprofit civil legal aid programs with more than 900 offices to ensure the provision of high-quality legal assistance to the poor.
